 After a scheduled pause, The Healing Place Podcast returns Sunday night with two new episodes focused on victims’ rights, accountability, faith, public safety, and the systems shaping some of today’s most difficult cases. 

This episode examines the Lindsay Clancy case through a Christian and theological lens, including the modern tendency to medicalize violent and destructive behavior, the role of psychiatric medications and their documented warnings, and the biblical concept of pharmakeia.

We will distinguish between what Scripture explicitly teaches and the theological argument being presented while asking a difficult question: Has modern culture become too quick to medicalize evil?

Our second episode provides an update on the DeCarlos Brown case, including the Mecklenburg County guardianship proceedings initiated by his mother, his transfer into federal custody for competency-restoration proceedings, and the continuing overlap between the state and federal cases.

We will examine the documented court proceedings, the guardianship issue, competency restoration, victim-rights concerns, and the questions surrounding accountability as multiple legal systems become involved.

Join Survivors Outreach Ministries live on YouTube for a special 20-minute Domestic Violence Awareness Month kickoff focused on survivor safety, post-separation abuse, victims’ rights, advocacy, justice, and accountability.

 In this special Domestic Violence Awareness Month episode of The Healing Place Podcast, we examine why leaving abuse is rarely simple. We discuss coercive control, fear, financial abuse, trauma bonds, children, threats, isolation, and the danger that can increase after separation. This episode challenges victim-blaming and centers survivor safety, dignity, healing, and accountability. 

 Leaving does not always end the abuse. This Purple October episode explores stalking, harassment, coercive control, custody-related abuse, financial pressure, threats, and other forms of post-separation abuse survivors may continue to face. 

 In this special Domestic Violence Awareness Month episode of The Healing Place Podcast, we examine how well-meaning spiritual advice can sometimes place survivors in greater danger. We’ll discuss forgiveness, submission, reconciliation, safety, accountability, and the Church’s responsibility to protect victims rather than pressure them to remain in harmful situations 

 Survivors deserve to be heard, believed, and supported. In this Purple October episode, we’ll discuss the importance of survivor voices, community responsibility, accountability, and what real support looks like beyond awareness.

Join Survivors Outreach Ministries for a special evening of remembrance, prayer, and reflection as we honor those whose lives were lost to domestic violence and stand in prayer with survivors, families, and communities affected by abuse.

Participants are welcome to light a candle, submit a name for remembrance, share a prayer request, or simply join quietly in support.
